3D Classics: Xevious
Xevious was first released in 1982 and became one of the most exciting arcade games of its time. Every kid played Xevious in the arcade and the die was cast for a long history of follow ups.

3D Classics is the follow up and fans of the first version will love the new release. The game sports an impressive graphics engine and beautiful scenes and landmarks.

You play the pilot of a fighter jet and dog fight enemy fighters who aim to shoot you out of the sky. The fight scenes are fantastic and the graphics are excellent. You will be engaging all sorts of different enemies in the sky, but that's not all. Below there are enemy tanks, artillery and other ground targets which you have to destroy. Your fighter jet can engage ground and air targets simultaneously. This game is pure adrenaline.

If you played the game back in 1982, you would have loved the fast, paced action of the arcade version. Today, most gamers may take it for granted, so the original appeal of the game may be lost. Nevertheless, 3D Classics: Xevious is still as breathtaking as the original. The new version sports brand new graphics that enthrall the player. The developers have spent a lot of time making the game as neat as possible, leaving you with an end product that has been polished and no room for real criticism.

You can change the view of your cockpit to enable you to see the ground below as well as the targets in the air. Both graphics are excellent. The sharp detail given to the game will appeal to everyone. All the modern tweaks have been added. The music is beautiful, the sound is fantastic. The game has been well rounded to provide arcade lovers with all the action they ever wanted.

Many re-makes fail to surpass that of the original, but 3D Classics: Xevious is truly a remarkable feat. Everything in the first game is present. Even if you didn't play the first, you will appreciate the detail that has gone into the design of the new version.

The controls are smooth and responsive and easy to master. You can save the game as you progress, thereby preventing too much frustration in case you die. The action is never ending and when you complete the game, you will be tempted to have another go.

This game can be played over and over again without becoming stale. Not many arcade games of yesteryear are still appealing and almost all of them have lost their spark. 3D Classics: Xevious does not rely on its predecessor for fame. The new version can stand its own in a time where arcade games are normally doomed to failure.

3D Classics: Xevious brings a new excitement to arcade. The game is well worth your money spent and an asset to your collection. If you haven't played the game, now is the time to get yourself a copy. You won't be disappointed with this classic fast paced shooter.
